The Potter Boy

A little late, but better than never.

As most of the world knows that the Harry Potter series has come to an end. The release of the last book was lots of fun and opening that cover at 12:15 knowing that people all over the world were doing the same thing was an amazing feeling.
I took Asher to the library for an event prior to the midnight release of the book, dressed as little Harry Potter left on his aunt and uncle's porch. Not many dress up their then almost 5 month old baby for a night time event, but Asher was pleased to do this for his mama, and slept peacefully (so in character) through the whole event. He obvously loves the book as his feet wrap around it.
He was then a fabulous little boy the next day as we sat on the porch and Ben read aloud to us. From his face it does appear that he is actually enjoying the story!
We plan on starting Asher with the books at a certain birthday and giving him one a year to love and read. I was thinking when he is 7 or 8, someone recommended waiting until he is Harry's age (11) going to Hogwarts, but really the thought of having to put these books away for over a decade seems extreme. I am already re-reading and so obsessed and in love with this book series. I can't wait to share them with my kids.

What an intense book, number 7. I was a bit strung out on an iced latte, while Ben was reading to me at some intense points, holding on to his arm and pacing in our bedroom. He asked if I was alright, I just wanted him to read faster!

I loved # 7 too!! I was so intense I had to take breaks for a couple of hours from reading. I LOVE the picture of Asher as Harry. That is the best. He is so cute.
