We headed to St. Louis on Thursday and were fortunate to be greeted by a beautiful day and entered the free zoo. It was huge, Asher was very excited and we had lots of fun. He is in such an animal stage right now. Loving talking about them, pretending to see them out our windows and typically when we ask him what he saw when his eyes are closed (trying to figure out his dreams) he answers with Giraffes or gorillas, which leads into a whole story about monkeys or about penguins swimming- which we saw a lot of at the Milwaukee Zoo in September.

Hugging the penguin, or actually cuddling the penguin as he declared. I think he thought it was real and gave us a wierd look when we said okay to cuddling the penguin. He wants to cuddle everything from fire in the wood stove, to the chicken eggs. His first carousel ride with Bubbie. He seemed to have a love/hate relationship with that thing, he did not lessen his grip for the whole ride. We had just seen the gorillas so it was the natural selection for him to ride.

The ride has stopped at this point, he doesn't let go though and wants to go again.

A shoulder ride from Zadie is always needed to rest those short legs. We got to see 6-month old baby tigers which was great and probably only half of the zoo. Will definitely go back.
